Taq’s quirks: how to multitask as a college student?

People who know me aren’t surprised when they read this. I’m a geek and proud of it. I’m also a woman-geek, that makes it even scarier… My philosophy is that every problem has its geeky solution. You can solve everything with technology and creativity. So the other day I had a problem, and this is how I solved it.

I am awfully busy with finishing my bachelor’s phase of my education: 3 exams in just two weeks and I have to write a thesis to obtain my bachelor’s degree, 40 pages long, which has to be finished by the end of the month. That means working a lot, and hard. I’ve got also my chores like the laundry, cleaning the place up and other stuff. I can’t do everything sequentially because I don’t have the time. Would it be possible to study my articles ánd do my chores at the same time? How would I do that? Normally you can’t read papers and fold the laundry at the same time…

You can. All the papers are available as full text PDF. When you use the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can choose to have ‘LH Michelle’, ‘LH Michael’ or ‘Microsoft Sam’ read it aloud for you. So I asked Michael to read it to me and turned on the autoscroll. So I was preparing my exams while folding my laundry. Isn’t that great?
