Oliver Sacks on Hallucination

This video illustrates my love for neuroscience perfectly. I really like Oliver Sacks’ work and the way he shares his cases. The passion he has for his work really comes across. Enjoy the video!

I know Oliver Sacks is American, but I can now hear he has an eastern accent, he sounds almost British. It only occurred to me he talks like this after my visit to Boston.

Muse vs. Italian TV

English band Muse was asked to lip sync their performance on a Italian TV show. That’s exactly what they did: the singer was fake drumming, the drummer was doing vocal duties and the bassist was doing “guitar” and “keyboard”. That’s hilarious enough, but oddly enough nobody in the studio noticed the joke. The hostess had no clue who was playing, since she announces the group as “The Muse”, which is not how they are called. Painful.

God’s Creation Never Fails To Amaze

Some animals have another face we normally never see. Who knew that porcupines could be this cute? God’s creation never fails to amaze me. What a wonderful thing to live on this amazing planet with amazing wildlife!

The Last Airbender

I first heard about this last year during the CNMC. There was this series “Avatar” which was great fantasy (and of course only available in the USA). I left completely intrigued and then forgot about it. Maybe it’s because I never actually got to see one of the episodes. Then I heard about the Avatar movie, but was disappointed after I found out this was a different story. The other Avatar movie had great 3D graphics, but that was about all there was to it.

A few months ago I heard that because of this other Avatar movie, the movie I heard of was renamed “The Last Airbender“. It premiers next Thursday in the USA and you bet I’m going to try see it while I’m in Boston!

A Blast From The Past

It’s official. This year I will attend the CNMC 2010 in Boston, MA. I arranged a place to stay, a flight and I registered for the celebration itself. I’m looking forward to it already. I had to think about the past CNMC events. This one is the third ever organised and the second one I’ll be attending.

In the next couple of weeks I’ll try to get this blog going again (the non-podcasting part) and post some of the prep going on here and overseas. To start of, here’s a blast from the past: Zina’s commercial for CNMC 2008 in Atlanta, GA.
